Pressure Equipment Directive

The Pressure Equipment Directive, is a directive released by the EU that mandates design, manufacturing and conformity assessment requirements for all imported equipment with a maximum allowable pressure greater than 0.5 bar.

The European Pressure Equipment Directive's (henceforth referred to as the PED) CE Mark came into effect on May 29, 2002. As the EU is China's third largest trading partner after Japan and the United States, the implementation of the Directive should incite concern among China's boiler and pressure vessel industry, especially export focused businesses. In recent years, as China's boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing companies quality and management ability continue to increase, especially ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel certified companies, more and more foreign firms are turning to China for their purchases. China's high-quality, low-priced products are often successful in their bid, allowing the PED's CE Mark certification to easily open up international markets; after certification, your products can be freely sold in all EU member states.

Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) Specifications
